Have you as an artist ever had to“fake it to make it?” Come on! You don’t have to lie to the Lord. Be honest! I am going to take this in another direction then what you are thinking. So if you don’t want to be openly honest, then at least be honest with yourself.

Faking it until you make it is not at all at bad in certain situations. I actually see it as a strategy. There is a difference between this and compromising the Gospel to get in good with certain folk in the music ministry, industry, and culture.

I believe in David’s case of acting crazy just to survive around the non-believers of Achish he had to do it. It was life or death in his situation. I’m not saying that it will be of such extreme in your context, but who knows?

Anyway, you all know I believe David was the Lord’s example of all creative arts, music, and entertainment ministries.

Hey brothers and sisters! We are switching up today and doing our second book review. If you remember the first one we did was music minister, songwriter, producer, graphic artist, business owner and now author Octavia Harris’ eBook 85 Tips To Help You Rise Higher: Personally, Musically, Spiritually.

This time we are reviewing yes, a Bible! It’s hard for me to review a Bible and all the different translations of it. The reason why is because I use all translations when teaching and preaching. Some of the modern day Pharisees and Sadducees and other members of the Sanhedrin (today’s Church Boards and Seminary Theologians) are always “sword” (Word) fighting with what is the best translation for the church to be using. And we all know that most will yell, “The King James Version 1611!” Not that I am bad mouthing the KJV; I actually use that version the most:

For today’s article I’m going to do something a little different. My new team and I did this exercise this week were I asked them to give me their one word that best explains the type of leaders they would like to see in this new ministry network and in the church in general.

I was inspired by the old members and lead by the Spirit (eventually) to restart MIC Assembly Network, but this time to get buy-in from all the old members and some new members I proposed that we determine and figure out in great detail what the Lord wants us to do, to be, how should we function, and to define the mission and every other aspect of this potential new ministry.

So this is the first of a seven-week exercise. I actually learned this exercise from a combination of both Brendon Burchard founder of Experts Academy and author of Student Leadership and Dave Ramsey founder of Financial Peace University and author of EntreLeadership. They had awesome exercises to build team unity in the process of determining what they were called to do. So all I did was mix up both exercise and my new team opened up and loved it! These guys were on fire!

So I want to share with you some of the words that they defined that they wanted in their leaders. But real quick, what they don’t know is this: That in defining these words they are also defining our culture and values statement that they will all have to live up to and by which we will be identified in our primary characteristics of MIC Assembly Network.
