EPISODE 57 – The Struggle Between Work and Rest for Leaders [PODCAST]
By Apostle Ricardo Butler
We are continuing off of our first week in chapter 1 of Genesis concerning business and our first “work week” from opening. I want to talk about something that is really important. I believe it is more important in our day and age where everybody seems to be going “to and fro” and are as Paul said “busy bodies.”
It’s the importance of rest that I now what to talk about. And no lie, I am guilty and not very good at doing this myself, but I hope to practice this principle more in the days ahead this year.
STUDY, UNDERSTAND, & APPLY …
“Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens.” (Genesis 2:1-4, King James Version).
“Heaven and Earth were finished, down to the last detail.
By the seventh day
God had finished his work.
On the seventh day
He rested from all his work.
God blessed the seventh day.
He made it a Holy Day
Because on that day He rested from His work,
all the creating God had done.
This is the story of how it all started,
of Heaven and Earth when they were created.” (Genesis 2:1-4, The Message).
